A visit to the market town of Dorking and to the surrounding Surrey Hills designated an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a special experience. The town nestles in the narrow valley between the Greensand Hills to the south and the chalk hills of the North Downs. Almost anywhere within Dorking there are glimpses out towards the Surrey Hills providing a dramatic backdrop to the day-to-day activities of the town. The countryside in turn provides panoramic views of Dorking. The spire of the parish church of St Martins is one of the tallest in the country and it acts as a landmark for visitors and locals alike.
As a local events photographer Dorking offer’s so much with sites in a valley amongst the Surrey Hills an old market town with the range of venues such as Denbies a wine producer of considerable note with its exciting venue for weddings and corporate events. and of course the Wotton House venue is very popular for weddings and events a beautiful property settled in the outskirts of Dorking in Surrey with 20 acres of gorgeous landscapes and just in easy reach from London’s airports Heathrow and Gatwick.
Dorking has many places that cater for wedding and events of all types with the people of Dorking being some of the most friendly people you will meet. Many of the venues will let me set up a studio within the venue so that I can take some more posed portraits of the bride and groom and guests.
One of my preferred spots is box hill it has everything you need for a interesting photo shoot be it portraits or landscapes it has it all.
